Leilei Wu

Leilei Wu (b.1997, ZheJiang-Ningbo, China) is a contemporary artist currently living and working in Milan, Italy.

Her practice unfolds across media such as 3D-printed objects, installation, experimental images, web art, and AI research.

Leilei Wu draws inspiration from both organic shapes and synthetic materials to develop a unique hybrid-form sculptural language and to disturb the physical, social, computational, and metaphysical planes of reality through a playful practice and a speculative, science-fictional approach.

Her work questions new technologies of production, reproduction and distribution, with an emphasis on exploring the relationship between art and technology, ecology, mythology and poetic thinking.

Leilei Wu's work has been featured in group exhibitions at the Kunsthalle Zürich (2022), the Simulacra Gallery and during the Chengdu Biennale (China, 2023), as well as on several occasions in Milan over the past months. She also had two solo shows with Alcova (Milan) in 2022 and Improper Walls (Vienna) in 2024.
